Appropriations Requests: FY 2010

Inland Empire Regional Water Recycling Project

Project Name: Inland Empire Regional Water Recycling Project

Request Amount: $5 million

Project Recipient:  Inland Empire Utilities Agency

Address:  6075 Kimball Ave. Chino, CA 91710

Explanation of the Request:
This project will make available approximately 100,000 new acre feet per year of high quality recycled water for outdoor irrigation, industrial use and groundwater recharge by 2015, serving the needs of over 300,000 residents within San Bernardino County, California.  This critical project will develop new water supplies, helping to drought proof this rapidly growing region and alleviate Southern California's dependency on imported water supplies from Northern California and from the Colorado River.  This project is authorized under P.L. 110-161, Title II, section 210.
